The GPA service creates an IPC socket in the world-writable /tmp directory. It accepts unauthenticated IPC control messages. This enables a TOCTOU vulnerability in the HandleSaveLogs() function of the GPA service, by creating a log file and manipulating it into a symlink that points to the targeted path; this can allow an unprivileged local user to make arbitrary root-owned files world-writable. In addition, a diagnostic collection tool (gimmelogs) running with root privileges was vulnerable to command injection from the dbstore, offering a second privilege escalation vector. (On Windows, gimmelogs does not have command injection but does allow writing a ZIP archive to an unintended location.) This affects Akamai Guardicore Platform Agent 7.0 through 7.3.1 and Akamai Zero Trust Client 6.0 through 6.1.5."}],"affected":[{"source":"cve@mitre.org","affectedData":[{"vendor":"Akamai","product":"Guardicore Platform Agent","defaultStatus":"unaffected","platforms":["Linux","macOS"],"versions":[{"version":"7.0","lessThanOrEqual":"7.3.1","versionType":"custom","status":"affected"}]},{"vendor":"Akamai","product":"Zero Trust Client","defaultStatus":"unaffected","platforms":["Linux","macOS"],"versions":[{"version":"6.0","lessThanOrEqual":"6.1.5","versionType":"custom","status":"affected"}]}]}],"metrics":{"cvssMetricV31":[{"source":"cve@mitre.org","type":"Secondary","cvssData":{"version":"3.1","vectorString":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H","baseScore":7.4,"baseSeverity":"HIGH","attackVector":"LOCAL","attackComplexity":"HIGH","privilegesRequired":"NONE","userInteraction":"NONE","scope":"UNCHANGED","confidentialityImpact":"HIGH","integrityImpact":"HIGH","availabilityImpact":"HIGH"},"exploitabilityScore":1.4,"impactScore":5.9}],"ssvcV203":[{"source":"134c704f-9b21-4f2e-91b3-4a467353bcc0","ssvcData":{"timestamp":"2026-05-08T15:59:34.989087Z","id":"CVE-2026-34354","options":[{"exploitation":"none"},{"automatable":"no"},{"technicalImpact":"total"}],"role":"CISA Coordinator","version":"2.0.3"}}]},"weaknesses":[{"source":"cve@mitre.org","type":"Secondary","description":[{"lang":"en","value":"CWE-367"}]}],"references":[{"url":"https://www.akamai.com/blog/security-research/advisory-cve-2026-34354-guardicore-local-privilege-escalation","source":"cve@mitre.org"}]}}]}
